Course Goal

The course is designed to provide a complete and thorough introduction to the new features of the Solaris 10 Operating Environment through 8/07, sufficient to allow the student to install the product in a production setting, and confidently configure and use the new product features.

Audience

The course is intended for system administrators and technical support personnel responsible for implementing and supporting environments using Solaris 10. It covers the new features and administration tasks that Solaris 10 provides, This course is not appropriate for students without a Solaris system administration background, and assumes that students are comfortable with the foundation features provided by Solaris versions 8 and 9.

Training Methodology

This course uses active learning to involve students in their classroom learning and to develop practices that will encourage continuous self-learning. Students will meet the course objectives through interactive classroom discussion, focused hands-on lab exercises, self-guided research, and scenario-based troubleshooting.

Course Prerequisites

Familiarity with Solaris Administration 8 and or 9 is a must; this is an in-depth course and is not appropriate for inexperienced Solaris system administrators.
