Bandwidth has undergone an update
to meet our goals of delivering relevant, high-quality articles
about challenges facing IT security professionals. In each edition,
we will highlight different partners, their solutions, and some
of the IT security issues they help address. A new feature is our
author profile that will provide some context and background information
on their view of IT security. In addition, we will provide articles
that highlight client technology successes, lessons learned, industry
leaders, or innovative approaches to addressing security challenges.
In this issue, we have two articles about security services that
can use some new attention - DNS and Authentication. Both articles
reexamine these services in the light of improving security and
availability by either leveraging a current technology investment
or providing a more consistent security environment via an upgraded
infrastructure.
Next, we have articles about the latest strategies to combat the
ever changing security issues for two of IT’s biggest administrative
burdens and security threats- spam and spyware. We also have an
article on endpoint security that explores how security investments
are failing to achieve their full promise because security policies
and technologies are not enforced at all times.
Finally, we have a case study about a challenging deployment of
Microsoft Active Directory that leveraged the extensibility of AD
to improve the cohesion and management of a financial services firm’s
IT infrastructure.
We invite your comments about the articles in our current edition
as well as input on what you would like highlighted in future editions.
