High End Next Generation Security Appliance from Nokia

Large enterprises and service providers are faced with a variety of security challenges today; threats are becoming more sophisticated, security solutions need to perform deeper packet inspections and changing traffic patterns demand higher firewall throughput performance across all packet sizes. Today, large IT organizations are demanding higher performance from security appliances with a small form factor as space is a premium at datacenters. In addition, customers are demanding security appliances that can be upgraded in phases as needed to improve performance and to protect their investment. Nokia IP2450 was specifically designed to meet all these needs.
Nokia IP2450 is a high-end, next generation security platform designed for the demanding price performance, and multi-Gigabit Ethernet throughput requirements of large enterprises and service providers. Using just a two rack unit form factor, it features two quad-core Intel CPUs and is purpose-built to run Check Point VPN-1 Power, Check Point VPN-1 UTM and next generation multi-processing enterprise security applications such as Check Point CoreXL. Nokia IP2450 is optimized to provide scalability and investment protection into the next decade by enabling customers to boost performance as needed with up to two, next generation, high-port density Nokia Accelerated Data Path (ADP) cards and Nokia IPSO™ operating system upgrades.
Target customers:
- Customers that have outgrown their existing Nokia IP710, Nokia IP740, Nokia IP1220, Nokia IP1260 and Nokia IP2250 firewalls will experience an increase in total throughput with the Nokia IP2450 running IPSO 4.X.
- Companies running mission critical applications such as financials, telcos, manufacturing, healthcare, federal government and energy sector entering a new technology refresh cycle will find the Nokia IP2450 attractive due to the scalability and extensibility available with multiple power boosts over time.
- Large organizations that require support for 10G networks and the highest levels of performance and port density in a 2 RU package will find the optimal balance of price/performance with multi-core, multi-processing and optional Nokia ADP cards in Nokia IP2450.
