Course Description
The Solaris 10 Resource Management Configuration and Operation course is intended to provide a complete introduction and tutorial for the use of the Solaris 10 Resource Management (SRM) capabilities, such as projects, extended accounting, resource pools, and resource controls. The course covers Solaris 10 versions through the 8/07 update release.
Audience
This course is for architects, planners and administrators of a Solaris 10 environment. It assumes that the audience will be configuring, administering, and managing the Solaris 10 SRM.
Training Methodology
This course uses active learning to involve students in their classroom learning and to develop practices that will encourage continuous self-learning. Students will meet the course objectives through interactive classroom discussion, focused hands-on lab exercises, self-guided research, and scenario-based troubleshooting.
Course Content
The course materials include step-by-step procedures for configuring, activating and tuning the SRM. It discusses the standard Solaris capabilities, such as processor sets and scheduling classes, and the SRM capabilities such as project and resource controls. It provides practical examples for environments such as zones, web servers, DBMS and NFS servers. This course does not cover general Solaris performance topics.

Students should have basic to advanced systems administration skills in Solaris 10.

This course does not support Solaris 10 certification.
